Well.....it is not the easiest job in the world, but I have been making it very difficult on myself. I am caught up in Camdyn being above the normal for her age. So, I began teaching her the shapes at 14 months...the numbers at 17 months...and now we are on to the ABC's. I would go over the shapes day after day and she was not catching on. I was getting so stressed thinking that I was not teaching her correctly. When to my surprise..around 16 months she just decided to tell me every single shape on her own. She had learned the shapes but waited until her own time to let me in on her little secret!
Then I worried about her not being able to count to 10. I posted numbers around the house, just as I did the shapes, with no success. Then Lil' Miss decided to show off at Thanksgiving and count to 10 all by herself. We are now learning the ABC's and I am seeing progress, she can sing the 1st part of the song, but I will not allow myself to get stressed out about this!
We also tried to potty train Camdyn before Crosby arrived with no success. I was getting frustrated so I decided to give up. Then about a week ago she wanted to sit on the potty all of the time. She never went tee-tee, but she would sit. Then last night after her shower she ran to the bathroom and said potty...slamming the door behind her. I began to open the door and she screamed and ran to close it. I opened it again a little later and she told me to "stand over there" and "see you later". Later I went to open the door and she ran to meet me yelling "potty in there" I went to look and she went poo-poo in the potty! Then today she wanted to wear her princess panties and she went tee-tee in the potty all be herself.
Why do I make this job harder than it really is?!?!
